NICA First Aid Class Details
This class meets the first aid requirement for Level 3 coaches within 1 hour of definitive care. The class is an 8-hour session, held over three evenings, and conducted remotely via Zoom. You will need to take a separate in-person CPR class to complete your requirements. I am offering the CPR/FA class for Level 2, with head coaches/team directors provided with materials after the class to complete their NICA FA certifications. The remote class will take place on December 2, 3, and 9, 2025, if enough students sign up. The button to register for the waitlist is on the home/register page.
The preferred method will be regional classes that offer CPR/FA training for Level 2 Coaches. You will attend these classes, and materials will be provided before class for you to complete prior to the racing season starting. You will receive certification that is valid for two years from the date of the CPR/FA class.
If you do the remote class, you will need a "victim" available for the four scenarios we will complete during the three sessions. They could be a fellow coach you are taking the class with, a coach not taking the class with you, or, as many students do, family members.
If your "victim" is not taking the class, they just need to be available, and I will give you a few minutes' warning for them to come to the room where you are taking the course. I will be sending you #4 stapled closed victim scenarios that are only to be opened by your "victims" when instructed to.
